The College has made a number of significant investments in the enhancement of its facilities over the last decade. These have included, for example, the all-weather pitch, the refurbishment and extension of the old Pavilion Block to provide additional classrooms, the refurbishment of teaching areas in the Main Building, the re-location of the Medical Centre and Estates Compound, and most recently, the construction of two new boarding Houses (Ellerslie House and No.7) and state-of-the art Sports Complex. The latter comprises an eight-court sports hall, six-lane pool, squash courts, rifle range, health and fitness suite, dance studio and entertainment suite. The new buildings incorporate the most-environmentally friendly designs whilst showing respect for Malvern’s architectural heritage.
The philanthropy of Old Malvernians and friends of the College has always played an important role in the development of the School. The Malvernian Society, the School’s vehicle for College fundraising activities, was founded in 1894 and has a long tradition of contributing to the School’s advancement over the years. Crucially, the latest campus developments have also been generously supported by OMs and friends and indeed could not have taken place without these contributions. We are extremely grateful to all those whose generosity has contributed to the new facilities.
Together with the Malvernian Society, which aims to keep OMs in touch with the School through regular publications, correspondence and events, the Development Office exists to get OMs re-involved with the College even further and to raise funds for strategic projects and vital developments at the School. Completed Projects
Sports Complex and Function Suite
A new combined sports complex and function suite has been built on the site of the old swimming pool and sports hall. The new eight court sports hall will allow the College to host major sporting events. This will become an indoor cricket facility for Worcestershire County Cricket Club. The complex also includes classrooms, a dance studio, fitness suite, climbing wall, two squash courts, a six lane 25 metre pool and a shooting range. A large function suite caters for major events. Alongside this development, provision is being made for additional enhanced facilities for the CCF and a new Medical Centre.
Boarding Houses
Two new “state of the art” boarding houses opened in September providing light, modern and spacious accommodation, many rooms being en-suite. The extra accommodation has enhanced our boarding provision.
