Junior Boys Hockey v Wycliffe College

03 February 2010

The Junior Boys Hockey team started their season with an 8 - 1 victory over Wycliffe College last week.
With limited practice time and a new mixture of FY and Remove players, they took time to gel, but after going behind to an early goal, they rallied to score 3 first half goals of their own (2 from Tom Trotter & 1 from Tobin Bishop), and Malvern\'s goal keeper, Kassra Gerami, pulled off several good saves to make sure Malvern went in at the break with their noses in front.

In the second half Malvern played with more width and transferred the ball more quickly up the pitch. This resulted in another 5 goals without reply (another from Tobin Bishop, and 1 apiece from James Medcalf, Will Corscadden-Hayward, James Phillips and Henry George, who had a very effective game on the right wing).
Worthy of note was Tom Riddell-Webster who had a controlling influence in Malvern\'s defence, and Ben Cooke who put in a man of the match performance
from centre midfield.
