Netball

The girls had a really busy schedule of netball fixtures last week with 14 matches played in total. On Wednesday the juniors played Bishop Hereford Cathedral School at home with three wins out of four. The U14 A team played their best netball of the term winning 27-13 with Emily Humfress named as player of the match and the U14 B\'s won 19-12 with Lydia Brand and Izzy Sims sharing the best player accolade. The U15 A\'s were up against a team with one regional and several county players and performed much better than their 33-18 defeat suggests. Rebecca Connell continued her fine form and was player of the match. On Saturday the seniors were away to a very strong Cheltenham Ladies. The 1st and 2nd teams both improved their passing and movement but were beaten 69-16 and 63-8 by two extremely well drilled sides. Bryce Birkhead and Alice Pinfold were the players of their respective matches. The 3rd team started really well but were eventually beaten 41-20 in some very tough weather conditions. Alex Perry and Anna Ross both had a very good game. The 4th\'s, in only their second ever match, lost 16-9 despite some good passing and improved footwork. Misha Patel was named player of the match. At home the juniors won three of their six matches against Cheltenham Ladies. The U15 A\'s played some very good netball but they scored more consistently and won 42-19. Vicky James and Katherine Berry shared the player of the match nomination. The U15 B team had an impressive 43-12 win thanks to some good movement and shooting, with Amy Cooke named player of the match. The U14 A\'s fought back from a 10-1 deficit to win 24-20 thanks to an excellent team effort. The U14 B and C teams also played well and with much determination but lost their matches 12-4 and 16-5. Natalie Kingdom and Anna Lewellyn were named players of those matches.
