Old Malvernian Cricket Club
For over a hundred years the Malvernians have travelled to Sussex for an annual tour. Always based in Eastbourne in early July, with regular matches against Old Eastbournians, Lancing, Uppingham Rovers and Eastbourne Town. The tour has always attracted full support.
In 1967 the Cricketer Cup came into being and the record of the Old Malvernians has been second only to the Old Tonbridgians; the OMs have won the Cup six times and have been the losing finalists on a further five occasions.
With the added interest of the Cricketer Cup other fixtures have become a regular part of the calendar, notably early in the season against Old Wellingtonians and towards the end against the Cryptics. The match against the school remains as the other important date.
Any OM who is not a member and keen on cricket would be welcome to join the Club. The subscription is £15 a year. Contact George Chesterton at Malvern College or email him here.
