Golf

Golf is played by both girls and boys and is the only sport at Malvern that is played competitively in all three terms so pupils can play and practice all the year round if they so wish, or can plan their golf around other sports and play for just one or two terms.

Senior pupils (100, L6 & U6) are timetabled to play on Wednesday afternoons and Juniors (FY & Remove) play on Thursdays. However, as full Junior members of The Worcestershire Golf Club pupils can play at other times too, when their other commitments allow. The cost of their membership is £147 per year which runs from September 1st to August 31st and is renewable each year and is normally collected at the end of the autumn term.

Apart from during the winter months (October to February half term) when poor light restricts us to less than 18 holes, practice sessions are held in the evenings for beginners and more experienced team players. These can be with Mr Cox or Mr Cleal who run the golf programme at the College or with one of our two PGA Qualified Coaches ‚ Richard Lewis (Club Professional) or Graham Hawkings whose teaching and coaching programme is based at the College (See Gazette Article)

As well as regular matches against other schools Malvern College is an active member of the Independent Schools Golf Association (ISGA) and enter teams in most of their competitions.

If you have any questions regarding the Golf Programme please contact John Cox (Teacher i/c) on jdc@malcol.org
