House 4 swings into action
27 April 2009

It really felt as if the summer had truly arrived when No.4 played tennis against the common room on Sunday, 25th April. 15 pairs of girls from No.4 turned out to play 8 staff pairs for two hours on Sunday evening. Although showers had been forecast, we were very fortunate with the weather and every girl got to play at least one set against the staff. I would like to record for posterity that every match was an easy victory for the girls against the staff but I am afraid that some of the staff were surprisingly good players. The Bursar, although he claimed not to have played for many years, was one of the best players of the evening. The top players from No.4, Hannah Jefferson, Tori Barley, Sophie von Nathusius and Alexandra Matthews played some very close and fast games against their staff opponents and it was a wonderful start to the tennis season at the school. Everyone went to No.4 afterwards for some well deserved drinks and sandwiches. No.4 would like to thank Mr Lloyd for organising the fun event and for coping with so many girls wanting to play.
