Commem in No.9
Saturday 29. of May 2010
The day did not dawn bright and sunny but No.9 had listened to the weather forecast and were prepared for an indoor event this year. Indeed it gave us a perfect opportunity to show parents our beautifully refurbished dining room complete with well-stocked trophy cabinets.
The early start to the proceedings had elicited a few grumbles the previous day but, as always, the boys rose to the occasion and presented themselves in good time for an inspection by Sarah who ensured that the lack of sunshine was more than compensated for by the boys shining faces and shoes.
The early departure of the boys was much appreciated by the House staff as they swung into action moving tables, folding napkins, arranging flowers and polishing glasses. All too quickly the guests began to arrive and the corks flew, Bucks Fizz and Pimms ensuring the buzz of conversation rose rapidly as parents greeted old friends and made new ones.
The buffet was enjoyed and a little wine was drunk before our guests were heading off again, with the boys thoroughly looking forward to their Half term break. Time for us to sit back with a well earned Pimms.

No.9 wins Boys Senior Athletics at Sports Day
Saturday 29. of May 2010
Sports day this year blessed us with clear skies and warm temperatures, perfect for all the events the day had in store. No.9 competed with passion throughout every discipline. Ben Vos won the 800m, Lanre Vigo, the 100m, and Will Wright and Will Vanston bagged top-end positions in the 800m and 1500m. However, the day would not have been such a success without the efforts of John Guilbert, Harry Zinopoulos, James Cullen-Loftus and Lanre Vigo, who won the 4x100m relay, bringing the gold home for No.9. With such determination and talent on show No.9 was placed first in the senior competition.
