Snow hits Malvern College
06 February 2009
Great excitement just before half term as for the first time in nearly 18 years (according to the weathermen!) SERIOUS snow sweeps across the majority of the country.
In Malvern the snowy conditions created great excitement and this was particularly so in House 6, where a large number of the girls had not experienced snow before.
Snowmen popped up all over the House grounds, on garden tables (so that Mrs Marshall could join in the festivities without having to go outside into the snow!) in the gardens and on walls!
Many Houses shrank in size over this period as day students struggled to get into College, but unusually Number 6 expanded as not only did a significant number of our day girls opt to come and board for the duration, so did Miss West, so keen was she not to miss out on her duties in the House (for this read snowballing!)
Along with an almost permanent state of snowball warfare, which seemed to exist across campus as well as around the Houses, Number 6 also boasted the only Igloo in Malvern, which boasted two rooms and outlasted the snow cover by about a week!
